Day 8: The Day I Built Someone Else's Website Before My Own Was Even Cold

ship30build-log

My personal site launched 5 days ago. My company site launched 3 days ago. Today I built a website for Bryan's corporate MC business.

Three websites in eight days. After three years of building zero.

The Emcee Bean site

Bryan is my husband. He's a corporate emcee. Good at it. No website. Sound familiar?

I built him a full site: positioning, SEO, lead generation, OG images, favicon. Deployed it on Railway. Start to finish: one session.

The interesting thing: I didn't agonise over it. Two weeks ago, building my own site felt like pulling teeth. Today, building someone else's felt like a Tuesday.

The resistance was never about the skill. It was about putting myself out there. Building for Bryan had no ego attached. It was just work.

The pattern I can see now

Day 7 I submitted community events instead of shipping code. Day 8 I built my husband's website, named a methodology, and drafted 8 posts.

The building muscle works. The publishing muscle is still catching up.

8 LinkedIn posts drafted. 0 published. The bottleneck audit from two weeks ago said "zero distribution." It's still true. But at least now the drafts exist.

What I shipped

One complete website (emcebean.com). One consulting methodology (Orchard + RAISE). 8 LinkedIn drafts. 1 business diagnosis. 1 content strategy. 1 benchmark analysis. 1 execution calendar. 1 birthday celebrated.

Running total

  • 3 websites live (cheeann.com, grooveconsulting.org, Emcee Bean)
  • The Orchard Method has a name now
